  • Wax has been gathering other organizations generative AI policies to find good ideas that might fit our needs

  • Make FPCS donation?
  • In general, donations is something we could be using the Miles/Board Discretionary fund for
  • These funds probably need to further the mission/vision of FPCS
  • Investing in the communities where
  • Proposal: Donate $200 to the Brian Rich Toy Drive on behalf of FPCS from the Board Discretionary Fund
  • Motion made by Wax, seconded by Hazmat
  • Passes unanimously
  • CHORE: Whatever to make this donation promptly
  • Promote to community?
  • May not want to set a precedent of promoting charities

Old Business

  • Small retirement gift for Aye - WaWax will coordinate on Slack
  • JaJaydeRaven is in the process of sending!
  • Jayde to post Venmo details so we can kick in to pay for it
  • Like in the past, this is funded by board members, not org funds
  • Request to sponsor an Afrikaburn project (financial pass-through for donations?)
  • Still coming together

  • Requested a proposal by beginning of January
  • We would not provide first-aid supplies, food, lodging, just camping space
  • We would provide the first aid structure, larger infrastructure
  • CHORE: Hazmat to provide the spec he used for quoting services
  • PC has requested we look into whether this is a problem we actually have
  • Definitely a cultural change, also likely a change to ticket cost
  • May be able to branch out into other services (security)

MALC

  • MALC planning team met with Southeastern Roundtable group to further exploration into a joint event in 2027.

Playa Del Fuego 2026

  • Planning Committee Meetings have started
  • PC in a good state, no unstaffed deparments, most fully-staffed
  • Need to start contract negotiations
  • PC has provided a list of requests for land improvements

Constellation 2026

  • Addition of Ms. Information as producer (!!)
  • First burn was PDF 2025 volunteering at Information Station
  • Ran ISS for Constellation 2025

Committees

Governance & Finance

  • Taxes for 2024 were filed timely
  • Review of Statement of Financial Position and Statement of Activity financial statements have been internally reviewed and comments made are in process of implementation
  • Governance and Finance Committee preparing to engage in the implementation of controls over (particularly) cash and near-cash investments. To be implemented in the first quarter of 2026.
  • Overall, we are sound financially. Our investments continue to tracking with the major benchmark indices
  • Liquidity needs are at a lull
  • Anticipate clearing all (although they are few) Short-term Accounts Payable by year end.
  • Anticipate final transfers of funds from PayPal and Operating Checking accounts to Schwab by year end, in accordance with our liquidity management practices.
  • Burning Man Annual Recap
  • Traditionally assembled by Liason and Producer/Event Leads
  • CHORE: DD taking point to assemble answers for both events

Operations

  •  DCompression 
  • This was the first Burningman decompression event for Washington DC
  • Fantastic event, well attended, large venue that was only 1/2 used
  • Operations went smoothly and the event was hailed a success by both leadership and the event participants
  • Naughty Snowball
  • xWhatever: ticketed burner only feels very different, energy is more "burner"
  • Could maybe even partner with Mischief
  • Something to do in the off-years for MALC
  • Offers a way to provide grants to Theme Camps and Artists in the winter
  • PDF Meetup (unofficial)
  • WhWhatever how'd this go?
  • Attended by 3 BOD, 2 Producers, and a lead
  • Generally a good time, having to last-minute move the event killed attendance
  • Wax hoping to do more online outreach with videos and such outside of FB (still)
  • Starting with "How to use a radio"

Safety

  • See above about emergency plan

Technology

  • Wax working on updates to Peacock and open sourcing it and the Flamingo boxes
  • May migrate to Stripe from PayPal
  • Bunch of small bugs/features that need to be incorporated
  • Every Peacock sprint co-incides with Wax having PTO to burn
  • Wax working on permission cleanup
